There's A Light in the Attic... and all our junk. Although our house is somewhat spacious, it lacks in storage...or maybe we have too much junk. I guess being lovers of antiques and DIY you tend to acquire more things because you really don't know when you are going to need something for your next project on your list, or it's a good deal today and you will need it. What does everyone else do with their junk?? I love LOVE the idea of minimalist living.  Less is more...yep, I like it in theory then I walk into an antique store, or even a stroll through Target and I have stuff in hand ready to bring home because I have a great idea! Some of you might be reading this and thinking..."she lives in Missouri, what about your basement??"  Which is an obvious thought and not wrong at all to assume I have this amazing store house of decor and all the things my kids need ready in the basement. It would be ideal. However....half of our basement is finished and the othe

Time heals most wounds.  I will start with the exciting news that Ty and I had decided to NOT DIY this ONE project and instead decided to hire out the job of having someone install roughly 800 sq. ft. of solid strand bamboo wood flooring.  This stuff is HARD and dulls a saw blade FAST. After I talked about doing ANYTHING to the stairs as long as it wasn't more carpet. We knew we were going to be putting in new flooring in the next month. So no time like that weekend to undertake this project. We start most projects on a Friday night and try to have them done by Saturday night if they are small.  This project took a little longer because of temps and dry time and we were working with ebony stain and that just seems to take FOREVER anyway.  We finished this project that Sunday night and have loved each step of this projects.  While Ty was at work I ripped all the carpet off the stairs. So nice of me right? He came home to this and his reply was "so are we doing this THIS weekend?"  This is the only stair tread we had to replace. We just
